diesel engine water pump leakage are as follows:
1. Mechanical seal wear: After long-term operation, mechanical seals (such as dynamic and static rings) may wear out, and rubber parts may be damaged due to aging, leading to water leakage. Solution: Check and replace worn or aged mechanical seal components to ensure that the new seals are installed correctly and the preload is appropriate.
2. Sealing surface, O-ring, and gasket issues: The sealing surface may be misaligned or damaged, or the O-ring and gasket may fail, as well as loose fastening bolts, all of which can cause water leakage. Solution: Repair the sealing surface, replace the damaged O-ring and gasket, and tighten the fastening bolts again to ensure proper tightness.
3. Water leakage at the connection of the water pipe: It may be due to the improper assembly of the water pipe interface or loose connections. Solution: After disassembly, reassemble and tighten correctly, and replace damaged joint accessories if necessary.
4. Water seal leakage: During the pumping process, a malfunction of the water seal (shaft seal) can cause water leakage. Solution: Disassemble the water pump after shutdown and replace the faulty water seal components.
5. Other structural issues: If the water pipe is not equipped with a check valve, it may cause excessive pressure fluctuations inside the pump body due to water hammer effect, leading to leakage. Solution: Install a check valve in the appropriate position to prevent backflow.
6. Excessive bearing clearance: Excessive axial movement of the bearing may cause the dynamic and static ring surfaces to open and leak water. Solution: Adjust or replace the bearings to restore the appropriate axial clearance.
7. Effects of coolant: Using inappropriate coolant (such as high acidity or alkalinity) may corrode the water seal material and cause water leakage. Solution: Replace the appropriate coolant and maintain it regularly to ensure the cleanliness of the cooling system.
